Just down to the amount spent , and the cost of replacement like for like. The same car as my avatar

"But I am surprised they accepted that, fair play to you for asking and getting."

Agreed valuations aren't just rubber stamped, you have to provide lots of information including multiple photos, copies of receipts & invoices, history etc.

My 1986 90 has had an agreed valuation for nearly 15-years now so the insurers have an immense amount of information to hand. Currently sitting at £13.5K but if I do the galv chassis etc next year then I will up it accordingly.
I was going to order the chassis over the winter and make a start this spring but other projects took priority. :(

I have filled in the form sent evidence and 5 photos, Received an email from insurers this morning saying it has been approved with an electronic copy of my two year certificate.

Presumably, all insurers offer this? Who are you through?

So am I. Mine's insured for 10K at the moment, but that is what I have told them. I reckon if anything happened they would just go to standard book price. I'll look in to an agreed price certificate, if I can get the engine rebuilt :)

I also got an agreed value with A-Plan insurance, £12k for a 1993 200tdi defender 90, just provided photographs. It has been rebuilt on a galvanised chassis.
