I just bought a "DEFENDER TD5 DISCOVERY 2 TD5 GENIUNE INJECTOR WASHER KIT BRAND NEW DA2479LR" from a business seller on ebay. The kit was £47.99 and arrived this morning - a brown envelope containing 5 loose copper washers and a blue bag (like Britpart but unbranded) with 5 o'rings.

Genuine Land Rover ? The seller is claiming they are.

I've just had a genuine Landrover part, from Britpart, (FRC5076 ball socket for the Transfer box shifter) but it was in a clear baggie, with a proper Landrover logo in green and various writings, part no's etc rather than a simple Britpart logo or blue bag ..

Britpart do OEM and genuine parts. Normally if part number has a G at the end, it’s genuine.

According to the supplier, "G" after the part number shows its OEM quality, but not genuine. LR after the part number shows its genuine Land Rover.
It's a bit awkward to put G for OEM though. Maybe to make the cutomer say: Geez it's good! ,.... this is valid mainly for products supplied by Britpart

IMO never rely on what a supplier sais, this "G" or "LR" thing is relative to what each supplier has in his mind, for example for this one G means "genuine" : https://www.johncraddockltd.co.uk/l...16319-g-genuine-td5-fuel-connector-block.html but there are many other examples.... you can be sure it's genuine only when you see the LR labeled package

I removed the injectors this evening and the o rings on them are orange. There were no obvious tears or splits, and they weren't "hard" as such, but definitely not that elastic either, but the cross section was definitely oval - so they'd flattened noticeably. I have no idea if these are the original seals, or if they've been replaced in the past and how long ago - but the only orange seals I've seen are in the cheaper kits ?

All back together using the parts I bought, and yes the o rings were green. Ran the auto purge about 5 times to get rid of the air, started it up and let it idle for 5 mins. Turned it off, then ignition to pos 2 - no air in pump ! Took it for a short run this morning, about 3 times further than it would get me before the seal replacement, and all seems fine.
Put it back straight back in the garage and drained the engine oil, and as I was underneath I noticed a puddle forming at the back of the car - closer investigation revealed the lower rear ACE pipe has split where it joins the rubber pipe.
I'd forgotten how much fun these cars are !!
