So here i am trying to solve my freelanders issues, Bought it a month or so ago, ran well.. Noticed a patch of diesel where ever i went, it was the intank pump wasn’t in right, week later it failed i replaced it it was bk up and running, then came the slow start, cranks fine but no start, got it going then drove it seemed to run funny, turned it off and it stayed alive running 5secs or so…, thought to be hpfp regulator sticking, then it started off a few cranks and then died, so i unplugged the rail press sensor it ran again but very slow, got me home anyway, then next day i tried to get it running it ran but it really didn’t want to 5 mins of cranking…, so i thought to clean cam sensor& crank, still nothing, took regulator off hpfp seals and nylon seal looks fine… i put a extra washer down from the steel gasket, still no start, i’ll add aswell there’s a big hiss sound coming from hpfp when keys on like pressers escaping or is it pressure relief valve letting diesel thru?, so now i’ve taken all injectors out, seem to be quite choked up with carbon on the tips i’ve soaked them in mr mussel oven cleaner over night then split the body’s to soak the nozzle tips and needless 3 came out smooth and were easy so get out the tips but one took alot of persuasion banging off my palm and trying to grip it with my nails got it out felt rough sliding down the nozzle hope that’s it. i’ve ordered HPFP reg repair seal kit, Injector seals and copper washers, BMW revised Crank case breather… hope this will get it going, i was going to order some bosch glow plugs but i highly doubt that would cause this it’s been 5-7° outside here in scotland recently bugging me now…. also changed fuel filter, maybe going to order pump at rear drivers wheel see if that’ll help any
