Hi we recently renewed two head gaskets as per the Haynes manual. We used genuine landrover multi layered steel gaskets. One was a 200tdi and 300tdi.

Both vehicles are leaking oil from the front of the head after been replaced.

Heads were skimmed too.

Question is.. the oil feed hole on the gasket looks as if not lined up correctly possibly causing it to push oil out the weakest point? Is this how it should look? (Genuine Landy gasket) see pic.

Thanks guys.

Elring gaskets are canny LINKY IMO

Not seen the layered tin ones for the tdis yet, the old composte ones seem to last well, but in the end they still leak a little from the front!
