Can’t be any worse sh1t..RR sh1.parts dept that started this ordeal telling me to remove negative cable for 24hrs as the only way to clear the hvac error final stage resister related issue and this happens. At least RR have clean hands as they washed and walked away.

Sounds about right. Have you tried posting in Regional LZ to find a known nearby independent specialist? They are worth their weight in gold when you find one.

Not yet. I’ve got another 800 parts to change before I like to give up.
I’ll have a look as local garages in Northumberland don’t seem to have the knowledge and are doing the standard checks and coming up blank and RR say they no longer have the diagnostics for a 2006 Range Rover which seems to be general comment from both RR as this being the point they all want to start at.

Not giving up seems to be a necessary personality trait with all green oval owners :D
You could also try Regional for nearby support from the forum. Sometimes just having someone to talk and have a coffee with, helps :)

Did he not say he had this problem before he changed the alternator? Although he is getting a lower charge rate than he should have.
He did indeed, but replacing a duff alternator with the wrong alternator is a possibility on this car. More likely the problem is corroded connectors or earth point somewhere.
