Earth to chassis was cleaned when new alternator supplied by LRdirect last week for my vehicle. The original was even tested and found to be okay but not sure how in-depth quickfit do check.
 
sorry but that is irrelevant.
For clarity. I was sent chasing down and buying a new alternator for a similar ( but not exactly the same ) issue a few years ago. The alternator is still in its box in the garage. The battery, now the correct one, is happily doing what it should.
 
Yes sorry mean 2000rpm. Batteryis a RR Varta logo battery 110ah 850amp. Exactly same that the car has been running on for years with no problem until this year when everything seems to have come along at the same time

I may be chasing the wrong path, or it may be the battery isnt helping whatever else is wrong. How many years and what trim is the vehicle?
 
It’s the HSE 2006 L322 aj pet 4.4 V8. LPG conversion
Ok that helps. I will now stop asking about trim ;) There are two battery sizes for the L322 . The one you have is fine for the HSE. The larger one is necessary for the Vogue and above. Having the smaller one in the Vogue + can cause all sorts of issues.
Which means knowing the battery and the trim, in the L322 is relevant. The wrong battery affects the whole of the vehicle.
As anyone who has or knows the L322 comes to learn, the two things, to always start on with faults on the L322 is battery and diagnostics.
So I will now bow out and watch and maybe learn ;) Good luck and happy driving :D
