Its a sad day but I've got to let the old girl go, that's the P38 and not the wife although its tempting, this has been part of my life for almost ten years but I've had to buy a (cough) seven seater due to a change in family circumstances and its not the same as being king of the road in the rangie, we've had some good times and some not so good times but she's always been there for me, anyway down to the intimate details -
This could be considered the "Triggers Broom" of P38's as its all original apart from
new radiator
new hoses
new water pump
new alternator
new discs all round
new airbags
new compressor
new shock absorbers
new exhaust
new front prop
new cd player
new front door locks
new battery
new radius arm bushes
and plenty more that I can't remember
She has all the normal day to day issues that are common to a P39, the head lining is held up with drawing pins which I'll throw in if I get a good offer for her, although she comes with a roll of new headlining material and if I can find it some high temperature glue, the receiver for the key fob has been disconnected so you need to hold it near the glass for it to work, there are two keys and fobs, the air condition belt has been removed as the compressor packed up, and she takes a while to start when she's hot, all standard stuff I'm sure.
If you check the mot history you'll see that last year it was advised that it needed a mirror glass, now fitted and the brake pipe is covered in grease this was put on to stop it corroding, the windscreen has a crack about 3 inches in length at the bottom left hand corner of the screen and has been there for at least three years without any problems, as for the " not excessive front oil leak" I'm not sure that the tester fully understands Land Rovers " they all do that sir" it was a very tiny leak coming from the oil filter housing that has been rectified.
Just remembered she's got a tow bar that's been used once in nine years and she comes with a spare set of wheels and M/S tyres that have enough tread on them to be road legal, there is a full hard copy of Rave to go with her and a folder full of receipts, there is also the original P38 handbook, there is also Datatec's disc for the air suspension if I can find it
I'm sure there's more I could tell you but I'm welling up as I remember all the good times we've had, I have no idea what's she's worth so I'm open to sensible offers, anything involving boxes of Smarties will be considered.
Any questions don't be shy just ask
Cheers Mark
