Hi all , with reference to my last post gearbox oil leak . I have added Wannsee transmission leak stop .
As first point of call ( cheaper option ) . The leak gives the impression it is from the gearbox & Transfer case ( oil looks like leaking from the bolt heads ) Have cleaned them off etc but they come back ,not flooding out but more of a trickle . Today I have again cleaned off and with the car jacked up I got right under and found , the offside front drive shaft seal is the culprit . Leaking oil is running down onto the transfer case then onto the bolt heads ( 2 @ each end ) will the additive resolve this or is yet another garage job .
Thanks in advance for any advice.

It you put a stop leak additive in the gearbox, it can't possibly help with a leak on the IRD, as the oils are separate between the different units.

Hi Nodge68
Cheers for the reply , I added the additive as I thought the leak was from the gearbox ,as 3 of the bolt heads had oil on and around them . After cleaning it off ,it reappeared again etc .Today cleaned it off along with the transfer case . But I could see the fluid running down from the seal area where the drive half shaft goes into the gearbox. I did not know the oils were different. Thanks again
