Yu have 2 problems, as I see it ......

1) oil temperature control (too cold is as bad as too hot).
2) the oil would need to be pumped out to the cooler.

you would also have to increase the volume of the oil to
cope with that in the cooling system.
You would need to work out the cooling effiiency of whatever cooling rad you used with respect of its position and airflow.

Not insurmountable, but not simple.

Bollix. Its not that hard you can get LT77s with oil coolers already fitted most the V8's had em and you can get the military box with them fitted. I wuldn't fancy drilling and tapping the case tho because all that swarf is gonna go somwhere. Mabe look out for a s/h box with it fitted or ask ashcrofts if there is an easy way of making a non oil cooled oil cooled. might just be a case of swapping casings/ section of case

i was considering an oil cool rad from slitty i have up front with thermostatic pump fitted.

its the case fittings im a bit stuck with.been huntin old rangie box but to no avail...:confused::confused:
quite happy makein stuff.run pipes to front down chassis rail is easy enough....

are you sure your not just creating a solution to problem that doesnt exist?

how many lrs run without the box being cooled and dont have a problem
are you suffering any problems from your gearbox being hot
all those moving parts are gonna generate heat,i think your creating yourself a lot of unneccessary work

Problem solved then- where do the cooled boxes take their cooling pipes from?

it gets fookin hot at a ton for 5hrs....:eek::eek::D:D:D

Me old 110 N/A had an oil cooler fitted. was simply a U shaped tubed with circular cooling fins attached to tubes. Sat in front of Rad wasn't cannected up to owt on mine . It was ex military though so may well have been connected up when in service.

You could always weld fins to ya box ( unless its cast ) ( so it looks like an old mini sump ) to increase the surface area of the box :D , but it'll look ****e and clog with mud LOL
