Good evening and Happy New Year to you all!

Dispatched my (120k miler) L322 to gearbox specialist today to repair what is suspected to be traditional GM box fault(s). Have been experiencing lack of movement in "D" each morning on first start up and get going only by sliding across into manual. Have also sensed juddering between 50 & 60 and slight slippage across the lower gears. All these faults that have been described on this and other forums and prompted me to get this fixed before complete failure.
Initial reports back from the diagnostics confirm slippage and juddering but in the absence of a cold start (until Monday am) this aspect cannot be replicated. My specialist however is concerned at the lack of warning messages / lights and has suggested to me that there may be a "command" problem. I've not read of this issue before and thought I would pose the question on here before speaking to him again on Monday. We are both cautious to get this right as it's a warranty fault and we all know how slippery those guys can be. Regards - Ian

As far as I know it doesn't bring up the Trans Failsafe Prog message when the 'box goes south...will have to look into it....

But in the mean time (I hate to link another forum) but head to the Technical Forums on RANGEROVERS.NET HOME and search for posts by RRPhil (Bemble on here) as he has answered a myriad of posts on the GM and ZF box failures and symptoms....the guy is a fecking legend and genius....

But I am not sure it throws a fault message on the dash...

These boxes are murder. I have an 06 plate & it's just had it's 2nd recon gearbox in just under three years, & this latest one has a problem of delay when placed into "D". It happens occasionaly when it's hot or cold.
I need to work out if it's a command fault or if the gearbox has a problem. It doesn't throw up any faults whatsoever, on the display or diagnosticaly.
It'll be interesting to hear what you guy say's.

Thanks Guys. I'll have a search around on RRnet. It's certainly re-assuring that a dash fault may not always be recorded. Perhaps I've caught mine before complete melt down. I'll advise my Specialist on Monday hoping that he'll agree to swapping the whole unit out plus Torque Converter and Oil Cooler. All we have to do then is get warranty to agree..... Thanks again and I'll advise more on Monday.
