Gearbox warning light

A while ago the Gearbox warning Light came up along with a message saying stability control is not working and special functions were not available. It was suggested to me that the Battery for the gearbox ( located under the dash in the passenger seat well) may be faulty so I went ahead and bought a new one. This worked for a while but recently the warning light is coming on again. I removed the battery once again to check it, all was fine, I replaced it and the warning light went off. However the warning light keeps coming back on. If I disconnect the said battery it goes off, sometimes for a few weeks, sometimes for a day or so, but always comes back on. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. TIA

how did you check the new battery? what is the voltage when you take it from the car? maybe its not getting a good charge.
