assume they do a small type impact wrench
ive one of these but there will be similar 3/8 guns available, it does most of my work, unlike my bigger guns its easy to hold and get in places with one hand

that looks a nice bit of kit , if i can’t get a small enough impact gun , i will indeed have to resort to a bloody great long bar , lol

i can see me cutting the bolts off as reading other threads the bolts can rust solid inside the bushes

have u ever heard ATF and acetone is supposed to be a great penetrating oil ??

@Nick20 , just quickly , out of good manners apologises for sticking my nose in ur thread , i should have started another one , :D

You wont need air or power tools for diy, they make it faster yes but there so many fiddly buggers to get to the guns wont fit.
Elcheapo spanners from argos/aldi/lidl will do to start with then when you can afford better the cheap gear can stay in the car as breakdown kit.

I would say the 2 top specilaist tools to get are
1, the 3/8 drive prop socket tool
2. the proper 6 sided 52mm socket for the hub nuts as the box ones are just utter carp

You will be surprised just how few tools you need to fix a defender, even stuff like head gaskets/cam belts is all simple hand tools apart from the torque wrench and some feeler gauges.

Agree with th man simple to fix.

re air or battery wrench lovely but not cheap by one later or put it on your xmas list.

Hi Bud,

They can bend, so if you have a really tight bolt, then put a scaffold tube over the outside for the entire length.

Mine bent so I got a 1.2m 3/4 breaker bar for the extra tight things in life. D2 hub nuts for example.

Cheers

hi mate

blimey thats a serious bar, lol ,

understand where ur coming from , will be easier for wheel nuts and top of air struts etc , if the rear wishbone bolts prove to much for it will be able to borrow some bigger bars etc

many thks as always

odd colour but looks fine as a tool, has relaceable knuckles which is a good thing

didn’t think it was bad for the money , that’s one of the reasons i went for that as it has the replaceable knuckle joints

plus will be a lot better that the other one i’ve got which is at least half the length

also thks again for giving me a heads up ref that angled power wrench instead of me mistaking it for an impact one , they cancelled the order no problems

Gary listen to neilly. I have broken the end where that swivel pin is when I used a length of pipe on the bar. So what I am saying is I agree 100% with neilly

no problem ,i wouldnt get a smaller gun like mine unless your using it everyday like i do,in fact its my most used tool by a long way but a ratchet and socket does similar just a lot slower, a large gun is very handy though

thats why having replaceable knuckles is handy ,1/2 is enough for most ,though a 3/4 socket set is nice it wouldnt be a first on a tool to get list

Uhhmm, radio? You're gonna be there a while..
Also, Ultimate storage bench come storage (Australian) silly money in Homebase. Liked it so much I put another one in the kitchen :D

don’t worry i’ve snapped a few bars, sockets etc etc in my time and indeed see where nelly was coming from :D

another reason i got one with the knuckle joint so could replace just that if it broke
