galvanised chassis

did anyone see the unfinished series on galvanised chassis that was on ebay ?...
me mate won it bit more than he wanted to pay but there is shed loads of new stuff with it and loads of old parts..we plan to swap all his stuff of his 88 truck cab onto it and cherry pick all the bits he wants and then sell on what he dont...picking it up monday so the fun will begin sometime after that..having not used a galvanised chassis before is there any probs or tips we need to know..ta

Only advice is... paint it before you start building on it. A shiney lump of metal under a old motor looks really gay.
You may also have to file the odd hole out

Check what paint is OK to use on zinc galvanised steel.

I think I once heard that ordinary paints aren't good on galv.

Come to think of it that was to do with galvanised steel up-and-over garage doors.

Might be worth checking out in case you spoil the galv.

Yu are correct, CharlesY - I think it is a Calcium based paint. But deffo special - Hammerite call ita "special metal primer"
