Not sure if this is the right section but it did seem the most appropriate.

eBay link

Tidy looking 90 so I approached the seller (zero feedback) for more information and photos. Was referred to "sister in law" via email who he was advertising on behalf of. Got more details and photos but then the scam started. Out of the country so can't view, I pay funds in full to ebay scheme that protects my money for five days she would then fly back and deliver the car. As we know ebay don't offer such a service and as it's a classified advert not an auction payment couldn't be made through ebay anyway. She was asking for personal details to "initiate the process." I could be wrong but I feel confident I'm not.

I just wanted people to be aware and thought someone might recognise he photos. I thought the price was too good to be true!

I have reported to ebay but so far no action seems to have been taken.

Thanks!

I wouldn't go as far as blatant but at the price it did seem a bit too good to be true, and it was. Just I'm case anyone's tempted.

think I might have a little go at scam baiting...

bollix, can't do it without revealing my home phone number, as ebay insists before you submit a question

time for a fake ebay account me thinks

These scams have been around for ages, to be honest you would have to be completely stupid to believe the waffle, and if you notice they tend to list them way below what they should be worth making the weak willed want to buy straight away, the scammers are not that smart either, as they tend steal photos of a previous listing, American classics get it done to them frequently and often the cars are known in the American car community as are the real owners.
Basically I would rather travel across the country to view it and meet the owner before I buy anything off the interwebs.
