I recall a thread on here a few days ago, someone saying they may sell their Defender to buy a 'fast car'. Thing is, I'm going the other way. I have a 1989 Vauxhall Carlton GSi, it's not the fastest thing in the world, but it does have over 200BHP in its current state, is RWD, straight six, and retro, all the reasons I bought it. It's not my everyday car, infact I hardly ever use it. I take it to some shows, have been to some track days, and occasionally take it out for a blat but it rarely gets used.

I'm fortunate enough to be in a comfortable job with a comfortable wage and all things considered have always had a decent amount of disposable income, which is why I've been able to afford 2 Land Rovers and said 'fun' car, but lately, I haven't been able to.

Infact, I've been thinking seriously about consolidating my toys and selling the Carlton to spend money on the Defender. I use that much more, and generally get more from it than I do the Carlton.

There's no moral to this story, just thought I'd share it.

Sorry if you feel robbed :D
