Fuel pump and reverse advice please

Hi ,

You may of noticed im trying to do a few jobs since having my (new to me) 300tdi Preg auto.

I would like to change my lift pump and reading rave and haynes etc it seems pretty easy until it says make sure new pump arm is sitting on cam correctly?? how do i know this is done ??

Also when reversing only, i can hear a slight rubbing/squeel/squeeking type noise Any ideas?? almost like a pad is touching rubbing against a warped disk in so much as it is not constant but every second or rotation of the wheels if you follow me ? defo not there when crawling forward

you just have to ensure lever on lift pump sits against outer side of cam ,you will feel spring been compressed when fitting if correct,id check hand brake ,try backing off adjuster so shoes dont catch to prove point
