Hi guys, had a look through previous threads but couldn’t find an answer.

I got round to changing my fuel filter (eventually) i received it today and took the old out. With my new filter there was: the centre piece and O ring, an o ring for the small hole and a smaller plastic piece which I have no idea what it’s for?

I haven’t taken one out of the old, I’m assuming it’s some kind of spacer for the centre? It’s a blueprint filter not a Land Rover one. Am I being a bit dim?

The fuel filter has gone though several design changes over the years. This has led to various designs of filters and the support components needed for them.

What I do is to use what fittings came out, then graft the new filter onto the oil components. The most important thing is to make sure that no leaks are in the system, or the filtered fuel will simply return to the tank.

Thanks for the reply and sorry for the late one... took your advice and all went well! Sorted my idling and power issue out. Ran beautifully for around a week until today (Never a dull moment)

Jumped in the poolander this morning and fired up straight away, once warm it cut out at every junction. Misfired at idle... I unplugged the iacv when I got it started so it would hold idle and I could get to work.

Got home tonight using the same method, had a look around... checked the fuel filter was correct. Now it won’t start at all, turns over, has fuel to injector rail and a decent spark etc...

I don’t know how it’s gone from perfect to undrivable overnight? Any ideas welcome!
