Fuel cooler issue

Hi folks,

discovered a faulty thermostate insert in a PIB 100060/50 fuel cooler.

Withdrawing the plastics part with the two studs on it I've found a leaky wax element and a completely tilted pin.

As this is for sure another source of error I looked for a spare part: pooh - they call up a three-digit number for it and a used one will not be even better.

Has anybody heard of a spare part kit for just the mentioned insert? Afaik there's only an o-ring seal set available.

yes, only o-rings available, unfortunately it's one of the most expensive fuel coolers on the market...you can addapt any other coolant based cooler instead of it just to be able to fit it there... a handy friend of mine fabricated brackets fitted one of these there Volkswagen Touareg Mk1 3.0 TDi 02-10 Diesel Fuel Cooler V7L6203491D | eBay , but you can find good ones if you search Land Rover Discovery 2 TD5 Diesel Fuel Cooler Will Fit 1999 2004 | eBay
