Fuel cooler fuel pipes

Hi all.
I have a discovery 2 TD5 which has a leaking fuel pipe on the fuel cooler, I have picked up another unit to swop with but looking at the fuel pipes on the existing one I see that one has a plastic push fit, and the other one which i cant really see as its the back one has a metal type connector, can anyone tell me if this should be a push fit as well.

I've just been told that I have a similar problem with mine except that my cooler is leaking coolant? Couldl I ask where you managed to get a fuel cooler from and how much they are as I'm struggling to find one apart from Rimmer Bros who want £700+ for one????
