can anyone tell me how to disable the fuel burner on 2.0 td4 hse diesel freelander , it just eats the diesel . please help im running out of money.

These things usually have fairly heavy power supply wires going to them & also a small fuel pump. Might be possible to disable either quite easily. Fortunately I don't have one in my Freelander but did once have an eberspacher.

Really ?!!?

I sure don't get the impression it eats a lot of fuel on mine,
and,
it's been mentioned before that the amount is minimal

How do you come to this conclusion?

my fbh has been working every day for the last month and can't say i have noticed any increase in fuel consumption doing similar milage every week

You can remove fuse 5 from engine compartment fusebox. I doubt you'll notice any improvement in mpg and your heater won't get as hot in these conditions.
All vehicles use more fuel in winter particularly when it's this cold.

According to my handbook (05 TD4) that fuse also covers Engine Management and Transmission Cooling.

Oooh Errrr.

Take out the temperature sensor and replace it with a switch. That way you can have it on when you want, or put a switch in that circuit and it will only work, switch in on position, below 5 degrees
