I have made a booboo. Why I did this I will never know!
After "chirping" in front CV joint(passengers side), I replaced both sides and on refitting ABS sensor to passenger side I "popped" a pea sized amount of grease on 'hole' before screwing home! (I know, and I put it down to early dementia). Anyway, when all said, I tried to clean out but have been left with ABS light showing (with hill descent and other, following after).
I know how the hub works and wonder if anyone else might admit to doing a similar thing, and have knowledge of solution.
Do you think I could dismantle back to free up the hub, inject brake cleaner or similar to dissolve grease and drain through ABS 'port' to cleanse "fingers" inside hub? Thereby restoring ABS function. I realise ABS will probably need resetting but hope my idiotic impulse to grease my ABS won't require a new hub, at £200.00.
Please help.
Andy.

sensors can be tricky to seat correctly a little bending of tab which is easy done or poor fitting o ring can put lights on ,ive had to swap the odd new o ring for the old one at times ,

The grease wont hurt,it will be the o ring stopping the sensor from seating as already suggested.Bin the o ring and use a very small smear of silicone to seal it instead.Use a soft punch and hammer to make sure the sensor is fully down - but be VERY CAREFUL,do not beat it to death....

Well, what can I say? Good advice, fast and clear. I thank you, JamesMartin, HenryD and eightinavee. I hope this leads to a full recovery of my idiot status (the wife says, "no way"). Anyway, I shall get to it and lose the rubber. I feel this will be a good day. Thanks guys, appreciate your input.
Andy.
