Had a few hours and some facelift indicators to fit so took off the faded grey grill and masked up the headlights too.

Painted on some high build primer, let it dry overnight. Out with the sand paper (not half enough, but that's a job for another day) and sprayed on the gloss black. Not happy with the finish, hopefully get at it over the weekend with some wet and dry and a couple of extra coats of paint.

Lights came off the spare Rangie, primer and 2 cans of spray came in at a fiver. Not a bad result, even if I do say so myself.

Next up, cut off the nudge bar brackets, then hunt down cheap hurricane wheels.

Cut off? Can't you unbolt them, or use them to mount some driving lights?

Like the black though, have you taken it for a length drive and if so, how well does it cope with the crap that pelts the front of a vehicle?

Had a quick look initially a few weeks ago when I took off the nudge bar, seemed like access to the bolts was a bit of a mare so thought maybe cutting was the best option. Must revisit this tho. Pleased how it's looking so far, amazing what a bucket of water can do.

Only have 50 miles done since paint, seems fine... so far...! Needs to be sanded and a few extra layers of paint to billd it up but so far so good. Maybe a tough clear laquer on top might be wise.
