Hi All, whilst trying to fix my indicator/high beam switch not being able to momentarily flick to high beam without turning them on, which is now resolved by glueing a packer (washer in my case) in the right place inside the switch I have been able to make my indicators now self cancel as they should.
Gave all the switch a good clean and lubed up but still it would not self cancel. On the steering wheel of my year 2000 there are 2 plastic pegs that flick the cancel mechanism to turn off. The shape of the pegs allowed me to slide some 3mm silicone tubing over them to make them thicker thus flicking the cancel mechanism harder. All is now well. Another job off the ticklist!
Hopefully this will help someone out and save them buying a new switch which could have wear on it allready.
