Greetings from Swindon, I'm about to get my first Landie Disco after years of having japanese sports coupe's and years on the modifying scene.

Would like a bit of help to know what to look for when i go to pick up the disco, i have been told about the boot rust problem, is there anything else i should look at (1996 Diesel 3 Door)

i'm going from this:

Is there any rubber on them slitty rims?Disco looks tidy enough. You have been told about the boot rust but have you been told about the rust everywhere else problem?Wot injun?

just got told to check the boot, but will check everywhere else...

tyres 225/35/18's awesome on the road but downside is the fronts only last 3,000 miles casual driving.. Think being mixed with Coilovers with a 60mm drop might have something to do with it too. But damn does it handle well though.

Welcome

I'm just one junction to the other way of stretchie... Jct 14 (Hungerford)

When are you going to check that disco?
I would take a screw driver and lift all the carpets to check for rust, you might be surprised how much rust can be underneath...

also check for play on prop shafts, leaks from diffs, leaks from swivels, leak from PAS box....

there's **** loads to check....lol

If Im around at that time I dont mind meeting you there as its 5min from me, then you can see all that is wrong on mine...and check that isnt wrong on his..

lol

cheers that would be very helpful, you could have a look too as you know infinately more than me about disco's... can't miss me, 23st shaven headed bloke with tattoos up right arm hahaha and the car stands out too...

You are going to miss those Japfest days at Combe LOL

BUT sooooooooo much more fun to be had on the Plain :rolly:....................:mil80:

japfest was so boring this year, i felt like an outcast hence why i wanted to change... The club i was with were getting to bitchy, it was getting split down the middle - the purists - keep the fto as it was built and the modders - improve on the original with better suspension brakes, engine performance etc it was becoming nasty... lost interest in it in the end.

didn't do much speed wise... apart for the nitrous oxide....... and carmillio pistons.... and GReddy flywheel.... and maybe the K&N Cold air induction kit and powerflow exhaust.. but didn't touch the outside apart from the wheels that (did chage the suspension for coilovers and brakes for grooved ceramics)
