From broken part to part number

Hi all,
So first the confession, whilst tinkering I broke the plastic tee piece from the PCV filter to the plennum :doh:
No problem I thought, I'll order a replacement. So off to Rave, but I could not even find the part Where next, search the web no luck
Last port of call the local stealers £27 pounds lighter it will be here on Wednesday.
So my question is how do you guys go from broken to part to part number ?
Any help much appreciated.

microcat would be useful

whats a pcv filter?? i just post piccys and people tell me what the bit is!!! and usually irishrover comes up with the part number!!

BTW Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve, or PCV valve, is a one-way valve that ensures continual evacuation of gases from inside a gasoline internal combustion engine's crankcase
