Hi all,
I‘ve been eliminating air leaks on my 4.2 s/c RRS and was running a smoke test on the throttle body yesterday and discovered smoke escaping from the base of the two pipes at the rear of the throttle body (See pics) one is hard plastic and runs to the top of a t-piece leading to the brake vacuum pump (see pic) the other is a softer rubber pipe running to (not sure but there is a pic!) Always looking for opportunities to spend I eagerly dived into the online parts catalogue and had little success
I can Find the exploded diagram of the vacuum pump but am not convinced the pipe I need is shown as the pipe I need seems to push fit into the rear area close to the throttle body/top of s/c and it has a click-fit connector to the top of the vacuum t . I can’t see anything like this in the parts manual - I think it’s the part that I’ve arrowhead in the pic- but there is no part number for that.
As far as the rubber pipe goes - I can’t find anything - probably as I’m not sure what it’s function is.
A final question is - how do I remove the had plastic pipe one end easily unclips but the leaking end seems just to be pushed into the housing, it moves a little up and down , but I haven’t wanted to be too vigourous!
all help gratefully received!
steve
