I thought all LR auto's did. I'm not 100% sure on the FL2 though. The FL1 and D3 definitely do, so can't see why it would be missing on the FL2.
Hi i only ask as i have just done a deal and traded my 07 td4 for the 2012 sd4 hse and theres been no mention of it they must expect me to know these things. Are there many problems cropping up on the sd4 Nodge68 ??.The vehicle will come with the approved landrover warranty and rescue

It should have command shift, so I wouldn't worry. By 2012 most FL2 bugs had been fixed. However it's a complex vehicle, so expect the odd problem here and there. ;)

I hope your right but what makes you say that.I use it on the TD4 when its cold and a lot of times to get it into 4th gear quicker
The SD4 does have command shift as others have said. On the FL1 you put it in D for auto then push to the right for sport auto. On the FL2 you put it in D for auto then push to the left for sport auto. Once either FL1/FL2 is in sport auto yer can push the gear lever forwards/backwards to change up/down.

As soon as the SD4 moves from D auto to sport auto it will drop a gear and continue at higher revs at the same speed. It does this as it's eggspecting you to ask for more power. The SD4 has that anyway in normal D auto mode so yer probably wont ever need to move to sport auto. Sport auto is available so you can ask for a faster set-up where it will hold gears longer before changing up on acceleration. If yer leave it in D auto and put yer foot down it will drop a gear if needed and rev higher or may just continue in the same gear depending where you are in the rev range. At 420nm peak torque it's got a good handful of power to play with.

The SD4 is a lively setup with effortless acceleration across all speeds. It's not just 0-60mph which is fast. 40-70mph etc is fast anorl. As nodge said yer auto will do what is best for the vehicle on temp as well as picking the right gear for performance (fool economy, acceleration/cruising etc) so there int much point in selecting gears manually. Manually changing up to 4th before the auto wants too may leave the engine labouring at low revs in a high gear when it wants to drop down a gear. It's up to you if yer want to manually change gears but why bother when yer got an intelligent auto with near seamless gear changes and a lot of power. Yer buying the technology so yer may as well enjoy it. Yer can vote in our polls anorl:
