I'm looking forward to getting my hands dirty and seeing what the outcome is. the smoke issue is a bit embarrassing, specially when there's a convertible behind...

lol,,:), don't worry when things get taken apart and new parts fitted u will begin to learn how to maintain and understand the engine better

wont be so scary then and u will soon know how to service and look after them

Have you not pulled that pipe off the IRD breather yet? That should stop the smoking.;)

Hi Nodge. is that the hose which I said was connected to the pipe with the downturn. If so I did try that but still the same, if not erm, please remind me.. I put it back on following advice..

Nodge just read back, yep I defo tried that, though I only went around the block with it, should I have taken it for a longer test drive or something? there are no hills near me.

hi mate

have u taken any pics of what you've done by any chance please , trying to also catch up , lol

20170902_101526.jpg edit 1.jpg Replaces two hoses is all so far, the New plain blue one in pic two and the black longer one in pic one, which had a 1cm split in it.

from the pic, where u fitted the new blue hose, you've got a black one also connected, that should go up the back of the engine and up to the top of the engine to atmosphere , the filter that's missing will go onto that black pipe

have u taken any more pics plse to show where the pipes go near the top

I was talking to you about that on the phone and took it off of the IRD to test and you said to reconnect it back to the IRD to prevent any particles of dirt going down the pipe, so I pushed it back on the IRD.
When the filter comes tomorrow or Saturday I will remove it from the IRD pipe and push on the filter, if that's a good idea unless I should do something about it now?

ah , didn't realise it was connected to that , cross purposes , please remove it and cable tie it somewhere and open to atmosphere ,

have u a pic plse by any chance ,

Ok I will quickly pop out and pull it off of the IRD downturned pip.

yes please , i wonder if the vaccum is enough to suck air out of the ird breather and dump it into the turbo solonoid valve or junk it up

assume that has always been like that since u owned it

don't worry i think i will be taking a few parts off, lol
