Freelander centre console

Hello- long time un-registered reader here- fancied picking a few brains!

I've got a 2000 (Pre Face lift) Freelander diesel, and could really do with an arm rest- would fitting the centre console from a post facelift Freelander be a viable option to give myself something to lean on?

Got a few other niggles on my first Freelander, but am working through them slowly- mainly on the back of searches through this website for advice- many thanks!

them is interchangeable, rare as rocking horse though.

Each to thier own but I find the high top centre box to high and awkward , try and sit in one that has one before you buy one. As I say could be just me I am quite a big lad that maybe does not help.

The centre console in my 1998 Freelander extends flat behind the handbrake and has another 12v socket at the end, my later Freelander has the raised cubby box between the seats and a thick leather arm rest on top of that - it just screws to the lid of the cubby box and is a good arm rest - probably quite easy to make one up if you get the later console.

reet get you now, you don't have the cubby either. the cubby box lid itself is too low to lean on, so you will need the optional leather armrest as well.

Did they make the post face lift FLs with the crappy grey dash?

I had the same centre console arrangement as shown on the second ebay listing except whilst I had the rubber tray (stowed in the door pocket) I had a one piece high cover which actually is quite high. Quite a bit higher than the one shown.

I replaced it with a leffer one so if anyone wants the old rubbery plastic high lift one let me know. In mint condition, unmarked and spotless.

They changed the dash to black around 2003 (before the facelift) then revised the dash but still did it all in black with silver trim on the facelift model.
