Hi Chaps, I was putting my roof bars on this afternoon when the passenger side Side step bracket failed and snapped off. The bracket at the rear had rusted so badly it could be pulled apart into thin metal sheets, really crap quality. Does anyone on the forum know of where to buy a single replacement bracket? I have looked around and can only but second hand complete side steps( likely to be rotten to) or spend £200 on a new pair. Local LR dealer was not helpful at all, just wanted to sell me a brand new set of side steps. Any help welcome Spike:(:(

Hi Spike, Had same problem. I think the only option is to take the failed brackets to an engineering shop to have new ones made up. I took mine off and noticed that access to the drivers seat was much easier when in a restricted parking space as you do not have to open the door as much to put your foot on the ground! My wife, who is only 5'-2" , was very pleased - and no dirt on her leg from a muddy steps! My steps are in my garage gathering dust! Regards, Eric.

Hi Eric, i think your right, I'll be removing the drivers side one tomorrow and will leave them off. I might gain some MPG as the weight and drag must effect performance. I had them fitted from new when my two girls were toddlers. They helped them in and out of the car. Both are now driving themselves now ! cheers Spike
