Freelander 2 Wiper issue

Hey all
Long time lurker, looking for some help off you awesome chaps!
Driving home it started raining, and couldn’t get wipers on
Pulled over checked 5amp rain sensor fuse, ok
Checked 30amp wiper fuse- ok
Swapped the two wiper relays, with the washer relays next to them- no difference

kept trying to drive but got so bad and frustrated I pulled like hell on the drivers wiper arm and the linkage for it popped off.
Well bugger me, the passenger side started working!
So I pulled it over the drivers side and it worked for 2 mins, then died.

pulled the motor and linkage and by putting 12v to the first two pins from the flat side-the motor spins

put a volt meter on the car side, and when activating the switch, you can hear the relay pull in and then you get 12v to the 3rd pin from the flat side

Back to the motor
Tried voltage to the 3rd pin and it did nothing


Anyone got any advice please as I am at a total loss, going to buy a new linkage and wiper kit from foundry tomorrow, but I doubt this will sort it lol
