Hi all, haven't been on here for a few years as I went Japanese for a bit (GV2).... I apologise for this heresy.
Yesterday I took delivery of a 2006, FL2 3.2 petrol. I LOVE IT!
However.... I need to so something about the rust beginning to appear around the rear arches, where the doors shut.
I also need to do something with my wing mirrors. Upon selecting reverse, the mirrors rotate out and up.... Pretty sure they should rotate in and down?

Also, I'll be lifting her and trying to free up some of that straight six song.

Thanks in advance.

You'll need to treat the rust, as per normal rust treatment and repair. I rejected a few FL2s with rust in this area, as I personally couldn't be doing with sorting out body rust. If the wheel arch is rusty, then check the sills carefully, as all the vehicles I looked at with arch rust, had much more rust on the sills, particularly where the arch liners trap moisture and mud against the metalwork.

The mirror thing could just need calibration, or maybe it's been pulled apart at some point, and the motor assembly has been put in upside down?

Set the mirrors with it in drive as you want them going forward and set them again in reverse for going backwards. It should then remember the settings for your seat memorry position as I think its the seat controller that does that.If in doubt read the manual.

The rust thing I'll be tearing in to come spring as I have nowhere dry to paint right now.
The sills are OK at present, I'll keep an eye on them though.

I think I'll whip the mirrors off and check the polarity of the plugs at some point. Probably something simple.

Also. I want to get the auto box serviced/flushed. Anywhere good in Suffolk?

I wish I had a manual! Another thing I need to sort. I'll have a look on fleabay for a book pack.
