Hi All,

had my FL2 now for a while, last month the EGR failed, so i replaced the EGR and then went to the local garage to have the air path routine done this morning. drove back from the garage perfectly, turned off, went to work, came out a few hours later to go out and it now starts, idles very badly and then cuts out, little to no throttle response, and not showing any codes when scanned.

im at a bit of a loss as what it could be, first thought is maybe a bit of carbon fell into the throttle body when the pipe was removed? or has the air path routine done some damage some how?

also to note that on the snap on Diag after the air path routine, it showed another egr fault, i think it was something to do with EGR limit no reached.

maybe a bad EGR? faulty out the box, or because i drove to the garage before air path routine?

any insights and help appreciated

this was the code from the snap on diag P049D means that EGR 'A' Control Position Exceeded Learning Limit has been detected.

I don't know if the Snapon diagnostic functions correctly for the air path calibration, but I know some diagnostics don't work correctly.
I believe some versions of JLR SDD also have routines for EGR limit calibration, and the same for the throttle body. Not much help, but it does sound like more involved calibration is needed.

interestingly, Sunday, i had the AA out to the vehicle, they completed the Air Path Routine again, this time separate for the TB and EGR. drove perfectly fine after, until i let turned it off, let cool and now showing P0406 code for the EGR, im thinking the EGR is faulty. i do now remember hearing a ticking noise which only stopped if i unplugged the EGR , this happened after initial start. so i reckon this may have foobarred the EGR?!
