All,
I was driving wife's freelander 2 last week and a dog run out in front of me. Jammed on and jeep cut out. Pulled into side of road and tried starting the vehicle. CRASH came up on the dash display and it refused to start. I am currently charging the battery (as it was low) but does anyone know if it has an inertia switch like the Freelander 1 that shuts off the fuel etc. If so does anyone know where it is located on a Freelander 2, and it it a case of just resetting it? Any help appreciated.

Geoff

A FL2 showing Crash, could be a couple of things. The impact sensor could be faulty or the battery voltage has dropped below 7 volts. Or the vehicle has had a crash in the past?
I've no idea about a Jeep however

Thanks for response. I was just up at jeep and I stuck in a full charged battery = no more crash errror. Jeep is turning over but still failing to start. New error now on dash is 'nor' - anyone know what that stands for?

Sorry I know nothing about Jeeps.
If it's a Land Rover, then it's best to get the codes read.

Crash mode inhibits the fuel pump and a few other items and needs to be reset using diagnostic equipment

Get it booked in to a LR Garage or a specialist with decent diagnostic equipment

Calling anything and everything 4wd a Jeep is an Irish thing, a bit like calling all vacuum cleaners Hoovers, happens up here in the North all the time too.

Thanks TD4Van I hopefully have a guy testing it tomorrow. I will update 'when' its fixed. The 'nor' error has me baffled. Rang local Land Rover garage and they had never heard of it!!
