My Dads 2010 Fl2 failed its MOT, the brake pads need replacing.
Iv read that all you need to do is undo the bottom bolt (front wheels) and swing the caliper up, is that all? does it need to be bled?

Any info would be greatly appreciated, iv done a search but my internet is playing up, takes ages to get anywhere!

I usually take calliper off clean it ,you need to push back the piston to take the size of the new pads they will be thicker if you don't have a calliper rewind tool put an old brake pad across the piston and use a g clamp to push it back .be carful not to overflow brake fluid in master cylinder may pay to bleed the brakes too

If you don't know how to replace brake pads then don't replace them. Changing them requires other brake parts to be cleaned and inspected. If you don't know what to look for or don't know what your doing then you run the risk of doing something wrong. We talk openly about all sorts of repairs on here but brakes are different. Get someone else to do it who knows what they're doing.

Thank you Hippo, that maintenance manual was very helpful.
Quite an easy job once we had the right tools.
One of the rear pads was worn down to the metal, i'm glad i told my mum to stop driving it!
