Strange problem with my 2004 Freelander. The radio is asking for it's code, I then enter it, the radio shuts off, when I switch it back on again it's asking for the code again. I know it's the correct code because if I deliberately enter the wrong code, the code enter counter shows 2 or 3 if I deliberately enter the wrong code twice (I've also used this code before when the battery has been disconnected). When I enter the correct code the counter stays at 1 but keeps asking for the code. Both radio fuses are ok so I'm a bit mystified. Perhaps there's a battery in the radio that remembers that the correct code has been entered and doesn't ask for it again, if so maybe this battery is knackered.
One other thing that may or may not be relevant is that there is a CD in the CD drive and usually when I turn the radio on I hear the CD mechanism trying to eject or similar.
