Cassette / 6 CD radio upgrade

Hello,
First post, i have a Freelander 1, 2003. It has the cassette + 6 cd radio. I have tried looking everywhere for a replacement surround to upgrade the radio but im having no luck? Also ive looked on other forms that have been discussed, but none off the links are still being used they are all 'unable to find'

What model do you have? Post a picture of your current system.

Hi, this is my current system

The radio is a standard DIN unit, so any DIN sized unit will physical fit.
If you're wanting to go for the larger double DIN, then you're out of luck, as the centre console and heating control assembly don't allow space for it.
Only the facelift (late 2003 onwards) allow for double DIN audio systems to be installed.

i might sound thick now - so if i just bought a single din radio, where could i get the surround thing to hold the radio in place? ill attach what i mean

You dont need one. As Nodge says, single DIN is same size as yours

looks like the same one I fitted to my series 3 , however it still works but the display is not working and I’m happy having an older radio in it, so if yours still works fine and you want shot of it I’d be happy to buy it off you
