Hi all, just got a freelander 1, 1.8 GS station wagon 2001 yesterday and loving it.

I used the main beam today & the flash is great, but when the lever is pulled all the way back to engage high beam the lights go down and are not good, but they are different to low beam.

It put more light to the right side than the left & was nowhere near as good as the flash (a totally different light pattern).

Can anyone help?

when you pull the lever to flash, you have both high beam and dipped beam on. when you pull it further to turn high beam on permanently, it turns dipped beam off.

Sounds like one of your high beam bulbs has blown, especially as you said the lighting is uneven.

maybe worth checking them before spending out on bulbs ?

just turn them on and see which part of the lamp is on.

perhaps if you can find a shop with a plate glass window or similar where you can see the reflection of the front, you will be able to see how the lights behave.

good luck
