Hello Freelander Wizards.

Got a question regards my daughters Freelander 1 TD4 (2004)

I have been rebuilding the rear end after a MOT failure(a long time ago) part of which has been the complete removal of the rear subframe/fuel tank and replacement of rearward brake lines. Now, I kept the removed sections of brake pipes(what was left of them at least) and now in the process of remounting these at the rear.. one of the section from the rear nearside has a 100deg bend in it(from factory) and I cannot for the life of me remember how this pipe work is routed around or over the subframe/fuel tank. I took what I thought were relevant photos but I have either deleted these or lost them. I am completely stuck as to how/what/where/why these pipes are routed. Looking online there are no useful photos that I can find..

Hoping someone has some idea of where these pipes go?
HELLLP!

Many thanks in advance..

Nearside rear pipe starts at bracket in wheel arch where flexi fits. Then tight bend, 100 degree? takes it from vertical up to vertical down.
Bends under chassis rail and up on the inside.
Then along the rear crossmember in clips. So in the void between the rear of the fuel tank and the crossmember.
Then turns towards front of car when it meets the right hand chassis rail.

Hope this jogs your memory !!

All seems too easy as that was what I was going to in the first place. The brake line clips are all ‘noted’ but the remnants of the original brake pipes have thrown me out of ‘kilter’ and got me thinking that Land Rover had fed it through the subframe…

Will need to revisit the underside and just get on with it… have the necessary tools for the job maybe just lacking the patience if I am honest.. will do as good a job as possible I guess. I am still looking for the original pipe to flexi pipe ‘union’ connectors. Have read on here that it’s possible to double flare the pipe to make it secure into the flexi Union but I would rather source the original style. Getting hold of them is almost impossible…

Thanks again for the ‘directions’ to get me closer to home on this one..

Best

Malcolm
