Was just browsing for 90's on Ebay and found this one; not to my taste but I just couldnt resist sharing itop2:

A J reg TD5? I think not. First TD5s were S reg 1998.

Ok, so it got "powder coated rocck sliders", alright we'll forgive the spelling
Going on to "winch an bumper", spelling again, but hey ho, no-ones perfick
Why then would you put on "22" alloys brand new", it's going to get stuck on a mucky road, it's never going to get off road is it

I've just asked him what chassis it has got i.e. is it a Td5 chassis, I'll see what I get back.

i have a 98(R) 300TDI and one of the guys in the club had a S plate 300TDI. I take it the winch is just to make it look pretty lol

might be a private plate? J749 is fairly unasuming, but you can't see the last 3 letters and it might say his name or something equally gaylander-owner-ish

Just received this back "hi mate proper td5 chassi brand new cost me 1200 not a chassi wots bin galved from marsland td5 engine cost me 950 12 month mot 146 tho but engine dun 90 got all pics wen doin rebuild".

Sounds reasonable, still don't get the 22" alloys though

thats fair enough with the engine, but those alloys are fooking terrible. are they LR items? look sort of range rover ish

so its a ringer then..... a td5 chassis is different to a non td5..... and according to VOSA this makes it a radically modified vehicle and would require an IVA and identity check then it would require a Q plate as is has lost its identity due to not enough points (8 needed) all it would have is axles and suspension......
