When the S*L*U*Ts founded the extremely successful maiden 'Chip Run' two years ago it was only successful due to a) people supporting it and coming from all parts of the country to participate and b) the incredible effort made by the team over a 3 month period to ensure that the day was planned to the nth degree so it would run smoothly - it took up huge amounts of time, effort (and money, though we never charged a penny) to sort. I wish you well in getting this off the ground guys but be concious of the fact that some people may travel a long way to attend and for some a half arsed weekend wont be good enough, people still talk about the Chip Run 2 years on and I keep getting asked by peeps 'whats next?', so get it right first time and you might just start the phenomenon of an annual LZ forum meet....:)

This is a genuine offer that I hope will really appeal to a few LZers. If it doesn’t suit you, then please back off and do your own thing.
Ok here’s my offer for a camping/caravan and greenlaning/ social meet.
Dates:
First meet will be between Friday 22nd October and Sunday 24th October 2010.
Yes, it may be cold and wet weather.
(All being well, we’ll organise another similar meet next year possibly in April.)
Plan:
Friday evening: Meet up at the camp/caravan site. (It’s near Fordingbridge Dorset/Hants border). Finalise plans for greenlane route depending if folk prefer easy/scenic or challenging lanes. If you prefer to arrive on first thing Saturday then that’s fine.
Saturday 10am: Set off for a day’s greenlaning around Salisbury area. After laning, return to the camp, to enjoy food, beers, bonfire, **** taking, photo sharing etc. Bring your own food and drink. I’ll provide the bonfire.
Sunday: Nurse hangover, fix vehicles, pack up and head home.
Cost:
£5 per night per caravan/motorhome/tent. (There are also a limited number of pitches with electric hook up at £8/night).
Facilities:
The site is basic. It is a level grass field. There is a drinking water tap close by. In the adjoining field is a refuse point (bins), and a emptying point for chemical toilets. I’ll provide firewood for a bonfire.
There are no showers. There is a compost loo.
There is a good pub and a Coop cornershop (open til 10pm with off licence) a five minute walk away.
There is a major caravan park that is a 10 minute drive away where there are showers and a shop with camping/caravan stuff.
We cannot allow dogs because there are horses, sheep, alpacas, hens, and geese in the surrounding fields.
Booking:
If you would like to join in, please PM me your name, address, e mail and phone number and state which nights you are staying (Fri and/or Sat) and send me payment in full via Paypal ([email protected]).
Let me know if you don’t have Paypal, and you’ll have to do a cheque.
Upon your booking, I will send you confirmation of your payment and issue further details via PM.
Also let me know if you have anything else to offer such as Army tent, large bbq, lighting, etc.
There is a limited number of pitches, so I will allocate pitches on a ‘first come first served basis’.
If the event is cancelled I will refund you.
Who's up for it then?

i wont be able to go that early as i have a new baby, but april sounds good and can pay the deposite when you like!

I have a serious question;

Would I be laughed off the pitch for towing a teardrop camper up there? (This one ain't mine btw):D:D:D

Snigger well I'm fat ugly and grumpy looking-that's on a good day

would be up for a meet, a few bevvies and some lanes; but no way are are yu getting me sleeping in a cold wet field. If theres a B&B with a duvet, brekky and a warm shower local then that sound good.

Now I know where the 'old me' disappeared to - it's fanny :p :D

And it doesn't roll over either...................................

......................until Robin stands on the doorstep :D:D
