Hi All
Recently come to open my Discovery 2 following a couple of days of inactivity but the fob would not operate locks. Light on fob illuminates and I tried spare fob with no joy.
Car battery is about 18 months old and has shown no signs of weakness.
I have EKA code but do not want to use just yet until I have an idea what comes next.
Any idea of what can cause sudden failure ?
Thanks

Hi. If you are certain that some quiescent current draw didnt kill the battery unlock with the key but dont open the door then try the fob maybe just the BCU went to sleep mode.
This is best, costs absolutely nothing to try it. has been a post on this very very recently.

Hi and thanks for the advice. I replaced battery in fob, as I had one anyway, no improvement.
I followed sierrafery's suggestion, unlocked with key then pressed fob, passenger door unlocked.
Lock then unlock again, hop in and start up. :)
Anyone know what could cause this ? Recently took old shed to tip and disturbed quite a few spiders. Could they get in anywhere, or the recent hot weather ?
Thanks all.
