Disco 2 Odd central locking behaviour

Morning all,

So yesterday I encountered an issue with my Disco that has got me scratching my head.

As I was going to work yesterday morning I went to unlock the doors with the fob and nothing happened, I tried a few more times and still nothing, assuming the battery might be dead in the fob I made my way to work without the truck and got a new battery on my lunch.

When I got home I tried again, still nothing. I then opened the doors using the key and immediately locked it again as I remembered the alarm would go off, but then I accidentally hit the button for the central locking and it opened!

When I set off for work this morning, the same thing happened when I tried the fob nothing happened but as soon as I unlocked and locked it again on the key everything worked!

Has anyone else ever experienced this? Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Any starters for 10 on what to investigate?

Hi. No worries, It's known behaviour, the BCU goes to ''sleep" mode and wakes up with the key so when ever the fob doesnt work after a longer rest just unlock with the key(without opening the door) then with the fob, read 433MHz instead of 315 in the attachment cos the bulletin is for NAS, the rest is the same as the BCUs are universal:

Thanks for your reply Sierrafery, so according to that document should I be replacing the BCU? Whats strange is that its only just started doing this, in the past I could leave it for a couple of days and still be able to unlock it on the fob.

No need to replace the BCU cos the new one goes to sleep as well just not that often, it's possible that the RF environment got richer in your area that's all.

Ah okay, very strange well as long as I'm not going to end up stranded somewhere because its completely died I'm happy

SF, would this happen in an environment where there are loads of WiFi boxes?

I doubt that but it happens where are loads of remote controlled garage/yard doors or others in the proximity of 433MHz range

Thanks for the info, I think it may have had something to do with all the storms that were going on in my area last week, that and the fact it was parked between two houses so was probably getting interference fromother electrical devices.

Why did I not find this thread when I looked ?

Anyways, curiously my Disco' is also parked between two houses. But it always has been.
Also recent heavy rain followed by heat. Could be a pattern ?
