After a downpour a few weeks ago the land rover discovery td5 i am using has a flashing odometer.

A local 4x4 garage could not diagnose a fault and the electrical systems are fine now.

After the rain the indicators stopped working but after the car dried they worked again but the odometer continues to flash.

Any recommendations are appreciated.

Hi all,

I went to James French today and they sorted the problem out.

The gentleman plugged an electronic gismo underneath the dashboard and said the bcu was out of aline with the displayed milage.

Apparantly, when i had the electrical problem the land rover registered two different odometer readings of very similar amounts but obviously some difference.

James French reset it and the odometer has stopped flashing. I have to highly recommed the garage too, they have a very well maintained forcourt, large service area and located in a stunning area of the countryside. Unfortunately, they were not that easy to find as they have a very small sign with only there name on it but they said they don't want to create any extra attention being a 4x4 specialist.

They didn't actually charge me for the work, he asked for a donation to the charity box, £10 seemed quite fair in my opinion.
