Hi guys just joined and i'm after some information regarding my 200tdi, i'm hoping to upgrade the front lights grill bumper to a 300tdi and understand its possible

can any one point me in the direction of a thread or any information on doing said job,

cheers Tommy :)

I don't think it will be "plug & play" if thats what you are after, but it may be.

Get the 300 lamps and what else is required and make them fit.

It can't be that hard as I have seen 200s fitted with 300 head lights both vehicles are the same diamensions after all.

yeah i understand its possibly not plug n play and agree it cant be hard, i was just hoping a couple of people might have done the same conversion already and be able to point out any possible pitfulls thay come across. :)

I've done this conversion a couple of weeks ago I've got a 92 200TDI which had crap headlights and I had a old 300TDI which was going to be scrapped so I thought easy just swap them over with the grill etc only take a hour :) how wrong can you be!!
The headlights and indicators on the 300 have different fixing points etc and different wiring connectors on the indicators and sidelights the way round I found was to cut the headlight mountings out of both vehicles and refit the 300 into the 200 and spot weld it in and used the fitting connections from the old 300 to wire the sidelights, indicators and fit the grill plus the trim in took about 6hrs to complete but well worth it.:)
