have put a defender 200 tdi in the def 90 and has taken ac side of thingsl weekend. everything went fairly well till I got to the electrics engine had all its wiring there so used it but I'm stuck on how to wire up the timer relay to my n/a ignition switch any help welcome. have searched the archive and found plenty on putting in the engine but nothin really useful about the electric side of things.

It might be a lot easier to dodge the timer relay entirely because .... does that not need the other IGN switch?

Why not fit a push-to-make button on the dash, and a Sierra glowplug relay (any 70+ amp relay will do) and do the glow that way?

Much easier, much simpler, and YOU could control how long to glow it.

cheers charlsey thats sounds a fine idea or is it possible to heat it up n/a style with existing ignition switch , so would need info on that botch cause Im using the wiring already on the 200 engine, cheers any one.
also found a tiny hole in the sump which quite happly dripps oil verry quickly can this be welded or brazed in place while the oil drips out?

Why not just drain the oil, weld up yer sump and renew the oil? Change the filters anaw, the enjin will proberblly love ye fur it;) :D

wiz wondering if I could jist swap over engine loom from the n/a onto the 200 tdi with maybe having to lengthen some of the wires and so would just start the same way as n/a as in hold the key to heat the plugs?
I'm going to get the sump welded to ,jist got p**sed of by last night
