Hello people. I picked up my 109 station wagon this weekend and have been making a very long list of all the things that need doing. Its basically sound but tatty and in need of TLC.
First job on the list are the rusted away bottom door seals. I have started grinding off what is left of the old ones and thankfully the frame behind them is still solid although pitted.
Are replacements available?. I cannot seem to find this part listed. Anyone done this job before?

Thanks in advance.

Trew, This is the bit I mean. The rubber fits in where the arrow is. As you can see it has just about rusted away.

if I were you, I'd just clean that bit up and paint it. then get the later TD5 Defender type door seal that fits to the bottom of he door (not the frame).
they provide a better seal and are less prone to damage.
you can get them from paddocks.

Thanks, That sounds like a plan. I was a little reluctant to put something back over the rust as it will only start to corrode again.

Not sure how much metal you'll have left by the time you've ground/brushed all the rust away mind!

I'd go easy & splosh on a load of hammerite or some other rust inhibiting paint. That should slow it down for a few years.
