Hi,

New to Freelanders, last land rover was a 300tdi Disco so I'm a little out of date.
Acquired my new money pit over the weekend, first question (of I'm sure many).
Can anyone identify this and explain in lay-man's terms what this part is and where it should be connected to? - The connecting pipe appears to have snapped or been cut.

In case it isn't clear, this was hanging at the rear oof the engine towards the left (as you stand and look from the front

Hi,

The small plastic clip should be attached to the ird breather ...
There is no issue with this part, it's small air filter for the turbo

Ah great thanks - so one end connected, this end just clipped up out of the way?
Saves me a brain meltdown trying to find where the other end goes
Much appreciated.

PHB000450 it's an air filtrer, so only one side is connected.

The clip on the pipe clips the filter (open end down) to the metal breather pipe from the IRD.

Some people have found the open end has been incorrectly connected to the IRD breather, which result in the turbo loosing boost after a few minutes running.

So just leave it clipped up but dangling down the back of the engine, and change the filter every time you replace the air filter. ;)
