Hi there
I've just bought myself my first Disco and pick it up in a weeks time, so I have the Haynes manual on order, and my finger hovered over the "buy now" button for Waxoyl. Talk about excited...
I have a couple of little bits of body work to do, around the windows, tail lights and back door, where the paint has bubbled. The underneath and important bits seem solid though.
I also noticed that when I test drove it up a slight hill there was a good trickle of water coming from from near the top of the windscreen on the passengers side. There's also a slight stiffness changing from first to second gear that I believe is a washer in the synchro... I'm hoping someone can tell me it's not too diificult to sort this out!
First and foremost I'm going to get the stone chip in the window sorted, but after that I suppose it's a case of work my way around the body work and make sure it's well and truly waxoyled.
The thing is that I've never done any work on a car before so will be getting some help from my brother who's quite handy. In short, I'll be trawling the forums for advice on what to do and how to do it.
Can anyone start me off with some advice on what to be doing first as I really am a complete newbie?
Cheers guys
