Thanks for welcoming me to the forum guys... currently downloading the manual.
Anyway there are a couple of things that need sorting on the car but what can you expect from a 12 year old car. so any help would be great particularly with the bumper question..

1 - the rear bumper has become wavy / plastic distorted warped. it has not had a shunt or bang or anything but it just appears to have gone wavy. problem is it is rubbing on the lower section of the back door and rubbing off the paint. i was hoping to apply heat to it and flatten it back. thoughts / fixes? is this a common problem?

2 - Some of the lighting to the climate control does not light up but i have been rangerovers.net for that well described solution - so will be attempting.

3 - Passenger side door lock does not actually lock - the pin does not go up or down but when you open the car with the alarm on it still does set the alarm off. you can hear it rattling when driving but the p/o did make me aware.

4 - how easy it to remove the light gaurds at the back? and if i did would it leave holes in the body work that need filling.

5 - p/o added new modern radio in but now the radio does not have reception - how easy is it to hook up the areial etc (never messed with car radios before - total virgin!!).

6 - if i wanted to replace the original range rover decals laettering to the bonnett / rear etc - how easy is it? where can i buy the chrome letters at a good price?

7 - rear wiper does not release washer fluid - front one works. do they have seperate bottles or could it be a motor?

sorry to ask so much but still new and very excited.

thanks guys again

1, as you say try heat, if not i'm sure a replacement from breakers wont be too dear.

3, take off the doorcard and look at the sill button conecting rod, it latches into the lock mechanism. its prolly come loose. if not whip out the lock mech and dismantle it, free off the little motor and actuator, pack with grease or vaseline and refit.

5 the aerial wire has prolly dropped out the back of the radio, on mine there is a boat load of wires in there and they can tug eatchother as you push the radio back in

7 its the same bottle bit different motors, does the motor run, can you hear it? if yes dont use it till you check the integrity of the pipe running from the front drivers side under the bumper.

re bumper guy on e bay in preston just brakes rangies nice guy name mick could find his number when you ready i have used him myself good luck j

i have light guards, i havnt tried to take em off though, i'll have a look when i get chance but i think they are screwed into the shell. i like em anyway, especially with a bit of back to black on em!!!

Hi i have replaced the letters on my p38, they came off easy i just took my time and pealed them off ,with a little help of a hair dryer, then cleaned the area with white spirits. i bought them off flea- bay and they look smart well pleased. :D

if you dont mind me asking how much did you pay for the front and back badges? still got the sellers details or item number? cheers

not managed to look yet today but will sit down and re-read your post and sort it. just trying to find a rear bumper as discussed - any ideas? not much on ebay
